Skin Care: 9 Ways to Prevent Pimples

skincare

Waking up and seeing pimples on your skin is quite terrible. What’s worse is that they mostly appear at the most spotted area- your face. Pimples aren’t a serious health threat, but they affect the victim’s social life by lessening self-confidence.

Learning to stop pimples from occurring is the only way to keep them under control. Many people give random advice on acne prevention, but at times they may be wrong. So, take a look at the following skincare habits to get a clearer face soon.

Keep your Face Clean

Wash your face twice per day to remove dead skin, dirt, grime, and excess oils from your skin. Oily skin is likely to get recurring acne so, wash your face with a mild facial cleanser and warm water daily. You can also carry along facial wipes to wipe dirt and bacteria that cause pimples.

Clean your face using soft clothes or your hands; avoid scrubbing and rubbing your face. Rinse your face well and use a clean towel to dry.

Keep Your Skin Hydrated

To get a pimple-free face, you need to hydrate your face constantly. Drink enough water and moisturize your skin with a light and oil-free moisturizer. Heavy moisturizers can block pores and make your sebaceous gland produce excess sebum.

Limit Make up

Most people concentrate on eating healthy, moisturizing, and cleaning the face. They try hard to ignore that some makeup may worsen skin break out. If you have a sensitive face, limit makeup use, and use organic brands that are free from leads and sulfates if need be. Also, always wash your makeup before going to bed.

You can also consider medical spa services for cosmetic injections and other services that will make your face beautiful and wrinkle-free.

Keep your Hands off your Face

Avoid pricking pimples since they clog pores that cause pimples and blackheads. Hands pick many germs that may cause acne and irritation to our skin, so keep them off your face.

Eat Healthily

You may have cheat days, but try to avoid junk foods. High glycemic foods such as burgers, chips, and soft drinks may spike blood sugar levels which in turn cause acne and skin break out. Always incorporate leafy vegetables and greens in your diet.

Wash your face after Workout

Make sure you’ve cleaned sweat after Workout. Sweat contains bacteria that can cause acne. Also, wipe your face with a clean cloth to avoid re-infection.

Manage Stress

Among the leading factors that cause skin breakout is improper mental health. A study by the American Academy of Dermatology shows that higher levels of stress cause skin break out. This is because when one is stressed, the skin produces excess oil-producing hormones. So, try stress management activities such as meditation, massage, or aromatherapy.

Watch Your Hair Products

If you are prone to breakouts, avoid using fragrances, gels, and pomades on your hair. If they get into contact with your face, they will cause skin irritations and block pores. Wash your oily hair frequently and keep it off your face. Avoid covering your forehead with headbands since they keep sweat that encourages pimples.

Limit Sun Exposure

Long exposure to sun rays dehydrates the skin, producing excess oils that block the skin pores. Therefore, avoid sun exposure between 10 am to 4 pm. And, use oil-free sunscreen lotion to prevent sunburns and skin break out.

It is normal to get pimples now and then. They may be caused by hormones, weather, genetics, and stress. Pimples are annoying and may cause permanent scars and anxiety. In whichever acne preventive measure you choose, the key factor is consistency and persistence since most methods take several days to show results.
