California Has What You’re Looking For

architecture-bridge-golden-gate-bridge-829237

From Hollywood to the Golden Gate Bridge, traveling in California is filled with adventure for people of all ages, and it’s on many people’s bucket list of places to visit. Yes, seeing those iconic attractions is on everyone’s to-do list, but you don’t want to miss out on any of these other hot spots either. Whether you start at the border with Mexico and go north, or Oregon and head south, you’ll find plenty to do in California.

Something for Everyone

In Carlsbad, you’ll find yourself enjoying warm weather and world-class attractions. Experience the world’s first LEGOLAND Water Park at LEGOLAND California Resort. If that’s not your style, head on over for a tour of the California coast in a biplane. Complete with leather helmets, you’ll feel like a World War I ace. Tour The Flower Fields at Carlsbad-Ranch. Drink in the color of more than 50 acres of blooming flowers on foot, or take in the sites from a tractor tour. A visit to California wouldn’t be complete without trying your hand at surfing. If you think you could benefit from a lesson or two, check out SoCal Surf Lessons. Open year round, you can find out if you have a hidden surfing talent regardless of the season. By the end of a day, you’ll probably have worked up quite the appetite. Indulge in some coastal cuisine at any of the numerous restaurants in town, or try out a food truck on the beach.

Get Busy Outdoors

Located in central California, Big Sur provides picturesque scenery and a down to earth vibe. Head to Pfeiffer Beach to experience the famous purple sands and keyhole arch. Enjoy hiking with people of all ages and ability levels through Andrew Molera State Park, or brave the more challenging terrain of Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park ending at Pfeiffer Falls. Set up a tent and stay a while at any of the beautiful beach campgrounds. At the end of your trip, make the short drive to Monterey.

Lots to See in Monterey

Monterey County is famous for Pebble Beach Golf Course, Laguna Seca Raceway, and of course the Monterey Car Show. Traveling with children or not, don’t miss the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Started by a group of marine scientists and philanthropists, the aquarium is a non-profit organization. Known for its unique exhibits, the Monterey Bay Aquarium is also a hub of research. Recently, scientists from the aquarium conducted research solving a long-standing mystery about Great White Sharks and their migration habits. It also boasted the only White Shark exhibit in the world. Want to try something more active? Tee off from Pebble Beach Golf Course. The world-renowned course is a part of a larger property that includes the famous 17 Mile Drive. If that’s not enough, head down to Cannery Row for a tour of the historic sardine industry.

No matter where you choose to visit, you’ll find adventure in California. From Sunset Boulevard to the beautiful mountains of northern California, there’s something for everyone. Don’t miss out anymore. You’ve spent enough time outside of California. Catch some vitamin D and a surfer attitude on the west coast. The only thing you’ll regret is not having visited sooner.
