How to make travelling your full-time job?

Often we tend to stay stuck in the swamp of mediocrity just because it’s easy! Some of us stay in an unhappy job for years because we’re afraid of change. Many people think that it is crazy to leave a high-paying corporate job to become a global nomad for months.

What if one wants to see what life is like beyond the ordinary? What better way to get out of the comfort zone, take a big risk, and travel the whole world! This is exactly what passionate people do, they quit their job and don’t look back.

People have made it a reality and so can you. Here are tips to pique your interest and get you started to make travelling your full-time job.

Your Priority First…Saving is Everything!

People don’t wake up in the morning with a random thought of buying a ticket to New Zealand! The idea is absolutely absurd, far from reality indeed! The idea of travelling the world blossoms over time. Before taking the travel leap, you need to make sure that your savings are blossoming too.

Having adequate savings to travel the world is absolutely essential. Just think of the cost! From airline tickets and hotel accommodations to food diaries. Let your savings grant you financial freedom necessary to take the leap.

Build Confidence…Speak Up!

The more you talk about the idea of taking a career time-off, the more it will become a possibility. When travelling is what you want, then convince yourself that you can actually do it.

Let your soul speak to you, and you know you can do it. Speak it aloud. Talk to trusted friends and family. Your determination should be such that when you are 50 years old, you will smile and say that “I did the right thing!”

Make a Plan…Sketch an Itinerary!

Before quitting your job, find ways to keep your life balanced after the job. If your house will be locked once you are away, why not find tenants to get some additional income?

With respect to your travel plans, sketch out an itinerary of places to start, how to manage and what to expect. After initial places, you can plan rest of the itinerary just like a canvas to paint your overseas travel.

Saving while Travelling!

Pick places where the cost of living is cheap. This will help you stretch your savings for a longer time. What you spend in a specific country in two weeks, probably wouldn’t last for even five days in another country. So, act intelligently and do adequate research before you pack your bags.

Your Guide… Social Media!

Staying plugged into social media while overseas, is a good idea. This will help relieve your loved ones and parents about your safety. Social media also can be utilised to source for ideas mid-journey. You can poll your Facebook friends where you should go next, interesting right?

Social media also can be utilized to save some cash while you are in your travel mode. Maybe your abroad friends who see your news feed and location update may invite you to stay at their place if you are in a nearby area. There you go, you save your accommodation cost. Maybe you can even inspire them, and they might join you on your world travel adventure. You never know!!!

Your Savior… Travel Insurance!

When you get hurt or become ill, you will have only yourself and your own skills to rely upon. If you are travelling with your friend or your spouse, the situation does become a little comfortable, but at the end of a day, things can be difficult and different in foreign countries. Let’s say if you’re running a high fever in a Shanghai hotel and need medical assistance, won’t you be happy when you know you can contact your travel company for help?

If you are a solo traveler with travel insurance, then be rest assured, your international travel insurance has a toll-free hotline where you can call any time of the day or night, and a representative will help locate a nearby medical facility. Often, when you buy travel insurance online, a travel insurance provider will arrange direct payment to the medical facility.

If your bags are stolen or sent on the wrong plane, you could be out hundreds of dollars for new clothes and personal items until your bag arrives. This single mishap can eat up your travel time and may even cause significant delays to your plans. Suppose you misplace your bags in USA, traveler insurance USA coverage will reimburse the expenses up to the plan limit so you can get on with your trip.

Not only this, if your credit card or travelling cash is stolen, you will not be disappointed with your right decision to buy travel insurance online. You can contact your travel insurance company and ask them to help you contact your banks and freeze the cards.

Also, your international travel insurance can help with an emergency cash advance. Although you have to reimburse the cash, it’s a good thing to know you can get access to cash when you desperately need it to cover the basics like food and shelter.

Some Final Words…

If you believe that, there are no limits to what you can do, move on!  It’s up to you to figure out where you want to be! If this means turning your back on your job and travelling the world, so be it. But before taking this huge decision, make a thorough plan. See that you have checked on all the points mentioned above. Be confident, and nothing will hold you back!

We love to travel but haven’t had a chance in the last few years. We are craving retirement time.

Sometimes, I have wondered if I should buy travel insurance when going somewhere, but didn’t spring on the extra cost. I think I only did it once, and that was because the cost of our overall trip was A LOT.

I love your paragraph about social media and how a follower may invite you to stay with them.
