The screen defines our digital age; almost every business out there or personal activity involves a screen of some kind. Throughout the day we’re exposed to TV screens, computer, smartphones and tablets. Majorities of people also work in front of a computer who’ll be working even harder in front of the screen and longer lengths of time. Because of this, a majority of us also suffer eye strain.
Defining Eye Strain
Eye strain comes from excessive use on screens. You’ll know if you have eye strain from a few different symptoms and feelings. One of these is through red eyes or twitchy eyes. Sometimes you may feel fatigue and have headaches during the day.
There is also another name for this symptom called Computer Vision Syndrome (CVS). This hurts a majority of office workers and those that need to use computer a minimum of 3 hours per day.
Luckily there are multiple ways to combat eye strain through a variety of methods both proactive and cautionary. Some of these are simple things we do with our body on a daily basis and just have to be conscious of.
Blinking & Adjusting Sight
Everyone blinks without knowing it. While we are looking at a computer screen we are prone to blinking far less than we should be. When we blink it forms a small layer of fluid protection that moistens our eyelids and concurrently our eyes. Without blinking your eyes become dry and it becomes hard to focus.
Try not to use artificial eye drops too much as this can eventually dry your eyes out. Just be conscious of this fact and make sure to look away from the screen every once and a while. This will do the trick along with adjusting your screen brightness. Also be aware of the lights around your computer, as you don’t want that to outshine your computer screen.

Just by simply standing up and looking a different way you can greatly reduce any negative effects of staring at a screen all day.
