What I really like about this product (besides it is absolutely beautiful looking) is the craftsmanship of the ceramic electric teapot kettle is superb. The entire body is made of ceramic for a healthier and better tasting (no yucky plastic smell or taste) hot water. Inside contains a stainless hidden heating element, the “max” water level indicator cap, and stainless steel temperature control tube. It sits on a 360 degree rotation power base with an underneath base station you can wrap the cord up for easy storage. On the exterior features the ON/OFF switch with neon lamp and the spout. At the top of the teapot fits the lid, which is also made of full ceramic. Additionally, the electric kettle is equipped with auto shut-off when water begins to boil for safety. There is even an over-flow safety feature on the base of the teapot where if the water exceeds the maximum level the kettle will start the “water-leaking” auto device for safer use. Overall, this is a very well-constructed appliance!
The ceramic electric kettle is easy to use. It is fairly straightforward. Just place the base on a sturdy flat surface, unwrap the cord and plug it in to an outlet, fill the kettle to desired level with cold water (not to exceed the max line), place the lid on top, press the on switch downward (turns blue), and you are ready to go! In about 5 minutes the water is heated completely and the switch auto turns off the kettle. The outside of the ceramic kettle gets hot, so be careful only to grab it by its handle. Pour out the hot water and enjoy your tea or instant coffee! It runs quiet with only the sound of the water beginning to boil. There is no whistle or any high steaming sound coming from this elegant teapot. It is quiet enough to use for that late night or early morning cup of tea while everyone is sleeping. I was able to pour a little over two mugs of hot water with the kettle, filling it to the max line. The kettle keeps the water hot enough to drink each cup back to back. However, it is not a vacuum sealed pot, so the water will not stay hot for hours. One thing I find extremely useful and is a real great perk of this particular ceramic kettle is that the swivel base makes it exceptionally simple to get the correct angle of picking up the teapot for pouring. The ceramic kettle itself is on the heavier side when it is full of water and the 360 degree swivel base combined with the chunky handle makes for trouble-free lifting.
