Flick Zombies! 4 Free Zombie Apps For Kids

Flick Zombies

Halloween wouldn’t be complete without the mention of Zombies!  Just the thought of the walking un-dead makes my skin crawl.  But you can’t seem to escape them, since they appear everywhere…even in insurance commercials.  YUCK!  Yet, kids seem to love the flesh eating creeps.  In fact, zombies are more mainstream than ever these days and the strange attraction to the mindless brain eaters is only getting bigger.   I don’t get the appeal.  Maybe it is the strange way they walk and the monotone moaning that draws interest.  Or all the fuss of protecting the world from the appending zombie apocalypse that gets everyone on the reanimated corpse kick.  In any case the disgusting creatures are still frightening to young children.  However, there are cool free apps that let the tiny ghouls get in on some of the zombie season “thrills” without causing terrifying nightmares!  Check out these zombie themed games rounded up by Thunder11 just in time for trick or treating!

Doctor X: The Zombie’s Surgeon

This awesome app isn’t about destroying zombies, there’s a twist–you’ll be helping them! Cure the zombies and make sure they’re fit for Halloween! Youngsters will sew them up, remove the nails in their bodies and learn medical skill basics in between! This special zombie game is another edition in the popular Doctor X series, and is appropriate for children of all ages.

Plants vs. Zombies 2

The second installment of a popular cartoon strategy game made for kids, although it may be a little scary for the little ones.  In this app, the plants take on the undead invaders and destroy them in creative (and non-violent) ways. Kids won’t be able to resist comical characters and the plants that save the day! This version is an updated on the original, wildly popular game and features powerful new plants to take on all of the zombies!

Zombie Wonderland

A cartoonish game designed for older kids, but entertaining and fun– and its strategy requires some critical thinking! Our hero in this game is a “zombie cleaner” who both cleans up after the undead & takes down a couple of zombies along the way.  There are plenty of guts here, but the kids will likely find them funny anyway!

The Creeps

In this fun app that’s similar in style to Plants vs. Zombies, the user has to defend a tower from approaching zombies, and keep them from getting under the bed!  Complete different levels with tools around the house like glue bottles and flashlights! Each level has a different theme and is sure to entertain the kids for hours on end!

This interesting – zombies are all the rage now (The Walking Dead, etc). I remember when the Twilight books hit, (and the first films), there were vampires on every corner, so to speak. I wonder what the next supernatural trend will be – werewolves? Plain ordinary ghosts? I predict demons!

My son would like these apps. He loves all things Zombies. I on the other hand not so much. I like the idea behind the Dr X: The Zombie surgeon. Where you actually help save the zombies instead of kill them. I will have to tell him about these apps.
