Aloha Friday!

Welcome to this week’s edition of Aloha Friday.

In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.

If you’d like to participate, just post your own question on your blog and leave your link below. Don’t forget to visit the other participants! It’s a great way to make new bloggy friends!

I love the taste of fresh herbs! They can dress up a mediocre recipe and add pizazz! Not only do they taste wonderful but they are good for you.

Cilantro, referred to as the Chinese Parsley, is my favorite herb. It’s delicious in salsa, salads, dips, and Mexican dishes. The taste of cilantro is a mixture of parsley and citrus. Yummy!

The use of Cilantro has been found to help increase our ability to clear up recurring infections, reduce inflammation, fight bad cholesterol, and help control high sugar levels.

My question this week is…

What is your favorite herb?

I’d have to say basil. I use it so often and my daughter uses it in a great bruschetta recipe. I might have to experiment with Cilantro very soon, though.

I don’t really do the cooking. My son loves anything with garlic – is that even really an herb?

I love basil and dill. Probably dill is my favorite. Or, mmmm. rosemary potatoes. So, yeah, maybe rosemary. Know what funny…cilantro is the only one I don’t like. shrug.

I’m a big fan of thyme. It’s delicate, lemony accents seem to enhance most protein.

i’m not an herb connoisseur and have never had this question posed to me before. so, without giving it too much thought, i’d have to say cilantro (is that an herb?). or how about garlic – is that an herb? i know… i’m pathetic =)

That’s tough. I love them all. We just planted a bunch in our garden and they smell so amazing! I love basil, especially with fresh whole mozzarella and tomatoes, yum! But, I also love rosemary. It smells heavenly.

I love cilantro in salsa the best. I also really loves salsa. I’ve tried it in bruschetta and I like it there too. It is great stuff!

I gotta have them all. I like cumin to get that mexican flavor in dishes. But Indian spices are my favorites – everything that goes into curry powder…
