Danze Antioch Single Handle Kitchen Faucet with Spray Review!

danze logo

My house was originally constructed in 1892.  Within the last 120 years the home went through some structural improvements, such as a new patio, roof, added Florida room,  as well as a small restroom add-on.  I’m uncertain regarding the entire history of the property,  due to the fact we bought it less than 7 years ago.  Nevertheless, by looking at the two essential areas which get utilized the most, the main bathroom and kitchen have not undergone any substantial renovations in the past 20 to 30 years.  Minor upgrades have been made to the rooms like new light fixtures, a splash of paint, and wallpaper. However, to make the kitchen alone more aesthetically pleasing we would have to sink at least $15,000 to $20,000  in to building supplies, kitchen appliances, and labor.  Not something we are able to afford to accomplish all at one time!  On the flip side, there are actually modest alterations we can easily do ourselves which will give the kitchen area a modern appeal like changing the kitchen faucet.

My hubby is not a do-it-yourself type of guy and everything he has attempted repairing himself in this house has caused him a lot of problems.  Tiny projects that should have taken only a few hours acquired days to weeks to accomplish.  Primarily because the house was improperly maintained prior to our arrival and things were completed not up to code resulting in the next owner to have major challenges.  Yet, when I was offered the chance to review a Danze faucet I couldn’t turn down the opportunity!  Despite the fact that anything working with plumbing is among both our greatest  homeowner fears,  the kitchen faucet was way too gorgeous to pass up.

Danze products are stunning inside and outside!  The company offers over 20 named collections of beautifully-crafted toilets, vanities, faucets, showerheads and bath accessories which provides you the flexibility to build coordinated suites for your bath or kitchen.  Danze focuses on the finest details when manufacturing their products, such as featuring lustrous finishes and incorporating ceramic disc valves with a Drip-Free guarantee into their items.  Additionally, all the Danze faucets comply with the 2010 California lead content law and their water conserving lavatory faucets and High Effeciency toilets are certified by EPA WaterSense.

Installation of the Danze Antioch Single Handle Kitchen Faucet with Spray

We ended up upgrading our outdated  two-handle ( three hole mount) faucet  with a single-handle faucet, therefore we had to separately purchase a deckplate to conceal the additional holes. There initially were a handful of snags we encountered during installation.  For instance,  the hoses to the Danze faucet were not long enough to reach our water supply valves,  nor were the 3/8″ hoses compatible with the current water supply fittings.  The problem was easily rectified by purchasing two connector pieces to fit between our existing hoses and the Danze faucet’s hoses.  Another problem we had that had nothing to do whatsoever with the Danze faucet was the shutoff  water valve to the kitchen sink was broken and could not be closed.  We had shutoff  the main water supply to the entire home, which was somewhat terrifying taking into consideration we had no water flowing at all until the kitchen faucet could be hooked up properly. Other than that, the mounting the faucet was incredibly speedy and simple!  It probably took less than 30 minutes from beginning to end!  Here are the steps taken along with a quick video demo for installing the Danze Antioch Single Handle Kitchen Faucet with Spray.

Installation Steps

Faucet

Check to make sure you have the following parts to the faucet.

tools

step1

Insert faucet into 1 1/2” diameter mounting hole in deck from above.

step 2

Install faucet body through top of sink. From underneath the sink, install
the washers and lock nut. Tighten the screws on the lock nut to secure the
body. Before tightening the valve body, be sure that the handle swing is
correctly centered left to right between the hot and cold positions.

step3

Thread on spout assembly over spout tube.

step4

If you do not intend to install vegetable spray hose to faucet, install plug at bottom of shank and go to step 8 directly.

step5

Install spray holder in sink deck: remove plastic mounting lock nut from spray holder, and insert the spray holder from above into the mounting hole. Tighten with lock nut.

step6

Insert spray hose (23) through spray holder and install the hose adaptor to the shank.

step7

Screw spray head onto spray hose.

step8

The supply hoses fit 3/8” supply valves. Apply pipe sealant tape to threads on valve before attaching
the supply hose.

step9

Tighten the hose to water supply.

step10

After installing faucet, turn on water to remove any left over debris.

Before and After Pictures

Are we happy with our  Danze Single Handle Faucet?  You bet we are!  We LOVE it!  It really does add spice to the kitchen and gives the area a different brand new feeling.  I would have liked to show a picture of the entire kitchen and faucet, but like I said the rest of the kitchen needs an enormous makeover and wouldn’t do the faucet justice.  Once we change our split countertops and update the appliances,   I’ll take a picture for all of you to see how beautiful the faucet looks with the rest of the Kitchen decor!

Great looking faucet and I like that it comes with a sprayer unit. This would look so good in my kitchen. I just wish it had double spouts. I have a double stainless sink and I would like a spout for each side. I currently have one now that I love but it’s chrome and worn out. It’s time for a new faucet set. I’m having a hard time finding one with a double spout with a sprayer.
