Working While Traveling: A Quick Guide

You’ve finally done it. You’ve thrown away the simple life at a desk and got on a plane with your laptop, ready to work in brighter and more beautiful places abroad. And that’s the dream of many people around the world! But when you just go for it and turn it into a reality, it’s good to have a bit of advice on your side. So check out our little guide below for some tips that’ll go just as far as you do.

Know Your Time Zones

If you’re still running on American time when you’re off abroad, you’re going to miss out on a lot of opportunities in your new destination! Sure, it’s good to keep the close of business hours in mind for your native country, but you’re here to travel as well.

So acclimate as soon as possible; if you’ve been on a plane for 14 hours, don’t immediately head to bed. Take your time to explore, download the different time zones to the clock on your phone, and plan out your time properly.

Make Money Easy to Access

Money is often different wherever you go, and being able to access it can be complicated if your current bank account isn’t supported in a certain country. Because of this potentially monumental problem, it’s best to get a handle on money transfer services right now, or even online accounts that can be accessed as long as you have a signal.

So if you’re off to Mumbai for a couple of weeks, to scout out the sights and earn under the sun, find a transfer money to india service you can trust. And to make sure you like it, be sure to try a few small transfers to test it out first.

Take a Portable Wifi Connection with You

You never know when the signal is going to go down, or be an unsecured network, if you connect to a hotel’s wifi or boot up in a cafe. As such, you’re going to need your own ‘dongle’ or portable router to take with you, so you can be sure you’ll have a strong connection at all times. Plus, you can put a lock and password on this connection, so you’ll be the only one able to use it.

Pack Some Comfort Items

Traveling for work isn’t all about the grind. It’s about discovering new places and experiencing the best of what life has to offer. And while that might mean you stay in a rough place from time to time, you can take the best of your home along with you.

This means you need to pack some comfort items, such as your favorite snack foods or a blanket you struggle to fall asleep without. Without these it’s going to be harder to work comfortably on the go, so shove as many as you can in your suitcase.

If you’re setting off for greener pastures, make sure you’re ready to work once you get there!
