2 Easy Meals to Make When You’re Short on Time

We’ve all been there, it’s the end of a long day, you’re starving, and you just don’t have the energy or time to spend hours in the kitchen cooking a complicated meal. But don’t worry, there are plenty of easy meals that you can make in no time at all, and they’re all just as delicious as the more complicated recipes. Here are 2 easy meals to make when you’re short on time:

Quick turkey shepherd’s pie

Shepherd’s pie, also known as cottage pie, is a hearty and comforting dish that is perfect for the colder months. It’s a classic recipe that has stood the test of time and is loved by families all around the world. And while it may take some time to prepare, there are ways to make a quick turkey shepherd’s pie for dinner this week that are just as delicious as the traditional version.

To start, you will need a few ingredients. 1 pound of ground turkey1 cup of frozen mixed vegetables,1/2 cup of beef broth,1/4 cup of tomato sauce,1/4 cup of diced onions,1/4 cup of diced carrots,1/4 cup of diced celery,1 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce,1/2 teaspoon of paprika,1/2 teaspoon of thyme salt and pepper to taste,2 cups of mashed potatoes. 

Get started on making the quick turkey shepherd’s pie

Preheat your oven to 350°F, In a large pan, cook the ground turkey over medium heat until it is fully browned. Once the turkey is cooked, add in the frozen mixed vegetables, beef broth, tomato sauce, onions, carrots, celery, Worcestershire sauce, paprika, thyme, salt, and pepper. Stir well to combine. Spread the turkey and vegetable mixture into a 9×9-inch baking dish.

In a separate pan, prepare the mashed potatoes according to the package instructions or your own recipe. Once the mashed potatoes are ready, spread them evenly over the top of the turkey and vegetable mixture. Bake the shepherd’s pie in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the edges are bubbly. Serve the shepherd’s pie hot and enjoy!

To make spaghetti and meatballs, you will need 1 pound of ground beef, 1/2 cup of breadcrumbs,1/4 cup of milk,1 egg,1/4 cup of grated Parmesan cheese,1 teaspoon of Italian seasoning, Salt and pepper to taste,1 pound of spaghetti, 1 jar of marinara sauce.

How to make spaghetti and meatballs

Preheat your oven to 400°F, In a large bowl, combine the ground beef egg, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, onions, garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Use your hands to form the mixture into small meatballs. Heat a large pan over medium heat and add a little bit of oil. Once the pan is hot, add the meatballs and cook them for about 5 minutes, or until they are browned on all sides. 

Once the meatballs are cooked, add in the spaghetti sauce and stir to combine. In a separate pot, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti noodles and cook according to the package instructions. Once the noodles are cooked, drain them and add them to the pan with the spaghetti sauce and meatballs. Stir well to combine. Serve the spaghetti and meatballs hot
