Three Natural Ways to Relieve Pain

Over-the-counter medications like ibuprofen have shown for years and years that they are effective pain relievers. However, the problem with this kind of thing is that it has also been shown that long-term use can cause some quite damaging side effects. Prescription medications can be addictive and have some pretty adverse effects. So with that in mind, if you are suffering from pain or things like chronic illness, then what are some of the best natural remedies to use? People have been using essential oils, herbs, and other kinds of alternative therapies as natural pain relievers for hundreds of years, so should we be looking to those for a natural option?

There has been some evidence and research that suggests that these kinds of remedies can help and make a difference, so as a result, it can be a really effective way of helping to relieve pain. So with that in mind, here are some natural pain relievers if you are looking for an alternative to traditional medications.

Lavender Essential Oils

There are a whole host of essential oils that we can use and use for different purposes. But for helping to relieve pain, lavender essential oil could be the thing that could help you to relieve pain naturally. It can help with pain, sleeping better, and can ease anxiety, and there is also some research that suggests that lavender can relieve pain as it is anti-inflammatory. There have been some studies into this too, with one being done back in 2012 that found that when people breathed in lavender oil, it relieved migraine pain much more than a placebo group. Just make sure that you do your research with essential oils, though. Talk to your doctor, as well as avoiding ingesting oils. Using a carrier oil can help for using oils topically.

CBD Oil

Cannabidiol (CBD) seems to be quite a trend at the moment, but is there any truth to the claims that it can help you with pain? There have been studies that have looked into how it is used for things like anxiety relief, but it can also help with things like chronic pain, arthritis pain, and muscle spasms or multiple sclerosis. People have also used it for help with epilepsy too and it has had some pretty positive outcomes. Although it is the oil from the part of the cannabis plant that is free from the THC, you could look to get an Oklahoma marijuana card if you feel like you need medical marijuana for more pain relief. Again, do your research and find out if it is going to work for you.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is an alternative therapy that has been used around the world for years, and it has been used to relieve pain. There is also some recent research that supports the claim that it does relieve pain. Acupuncture could with a variety of different pain, which could include things like:

  • Upper and lower back pain
  • Neck pain
  • Osteoarthritis
  • knee pain
  • Tension headaches
  • Migraine headaches

Alternatives

Some people find that none of what we mentioned above will help them feel better when it comes to pain. If this is the case for you, then we recommend looking into some alternatives. For example, you can look at certain types of tea which are said to have pain relieving properties, you can look into things like delta 8 vape carts, turmeric, and many others. Pain treatment is a personal thing, meaning what works for you is not necessarily going to work for someone else. Don’t compare yourself to others and their journey, because your journey is your own and filled with your own choices.
