My Thoughts

I’m sure you must be thinking,  how many times can you remake Beauty & The Beast and still be kept entertained?  However, these two enchanting films differ in just about every aspect, with the exception of the beloved characters have returned in both with a handful of new animation faces thrown in as well that you’ll fall in love with too.  Each feature,  inspired by the original classic,  does an excellent job living up to their award winning predecessor. Nonetheless, I believe true dedicated Beauty & Beast enthusiasts could possibly be slightly disappointed, due to the fact  the movies (although I think they are charming) might not fulfill their expectations in comparison to the masterpiece.

Beauty & The Beast: The Enchanted Christmas is a sequel/midquel that begins and finishes in the present, but flashes back in time after the Beast rescues Belle from the wolves and before the the fight with Gaston happens.  To be honest, I LOVED THIS MOVIE MORE than I liked the original!  Maybe it was the holiday music or the new scary villain (Forte).  I’m not exactly sure why, but it was my favorite out of the three!  I found it truly magical and think it is a must see!  The movie goes into additional details as to why the enchantress puts the spell on the whole castle in the first place.  I think it fills in the gaps that might leave fans wondering what lead to the Beast.

Beauty & The Beast: Belle’s Magical World Special Edition features four short stories- “The Perfect Word,” “Fifi’s Folly,” “Mrs. Potts’ Party,” and  “A Broken Wing.”   The 92 minute film is packed with uplifting songs and teaches about the importance of forgiveness, respect, and friendship!

The movies make a wonderful gift this holiday season for the Disney fan on your shopping list!
